Orchids are known to flourish in many different environments with
their extremely diverse morphologies and ecological traits. From
common roadside flowers such as the Chinese spiranthes to elegant
gifts like the Cattleya, most people have likely witnessed orchids
before in one form or another. The moth orchids (Phalaenopsis
aphrodite) are commonly used as a model plant for researches
such as genome sequencing, genetic transformation and other
molecular analyses. We are interested in pursuing these types o
f research with other orchid species.
