題目：Classification of finite simple groups?

アブストラクト：The classification of finite simple groups began in earnest after Feit-Thompson proved the solvability of groups of odd order in 1963. The complete classification was announced in 1980. In a published version, D. Gorenstein amended this to February,1981. Several mistakes were found and corrected during the following decade. About one year before Gorenstein's death, Gorenstein was alarmed that there was a gap in the unpublished article on quasithin finite simple groups by G. Mason. This typescript was incomplete and lacked the treatment of some small cases. In 1992 M. Aschbacher announced his result at the Joint AMS/LMS meeting on his treatment of the remaining cases. However, both manuscripts remain unpublished as noted by R. Solomon. Since 1996 M. Aschbacher and S. Smith are preparing a work in progress :A Classification of Quasithin Groups. In the August, 2001 version of this paper, the proof is pronounced complete. This enormous work has now more than 900 pages. Since then several versions have been written. Version 13 of Chapter two has been just finished. Gorenstein and R. Lyons started a revision project on the classification of finite simple groups. In 1982 Solomon joined their project. The GLS project predicts 13 volumes. Four volumes have now been published. Six chapters of volume 5 are in various stages of completion. The number of volumes of this project may change to 9.

アブストラクト：１次元拡散過程は 1950 年代に詳しく研究されたが、その極限は双一般化拡散過程と呼ばれ、やや複雑である。このクラスは、1989 年に講演者によって定式化と特徴づけが行われているが、最近塩谷氏が幾何学的興味から、さらに複雑な極限移行の研究を行っている。本講演では、これらの話を紹介し、更に拡散過程のクラスのプレコンパクト性とその完備化についての、塩谷氏、富崎氏との進行中の共同研究の結果を述べる。
